French Dromedary Corps in Egypt 1801

Something of an impulse purchase. These are SHQ metal figures as there is nothing similar available in plastic. The Regiment de Dromedaires would really be used for patrolling, etc. and not really on the battlefield, but they do look nice. The figures are dressed in their late uniform aound 1800-1802. The figures were sold in packs of three, but only wanting four I added one of the French Generals from the same range as an officer.

On the right of the unit is one of the Generals accompanied by a couple of Strelets infantrymen. I've also added a few other bits, a couple more casualty bases and some mummies and sarcophagus (from an old Atlantic set)

Gorgeous!! Lovely and colourful. Well worth the wait. Really like the Sarcophagi too. Any chance of a close up on the camel riders?

I only realised recently SHQ were selling these and other ex-Fine Scale Factory figures and equipment. There are some particularly good artillery pieces in the range. And you don't have to try and deal with a certain German seller any more.

When I had the Finescale figures in the hand years ago I thought the legs were too short and haven't bought them.

vintage wargaming, I guess you mean the one German seller who cheated half the friends I have in this hobby? This guy did a lot of harm to us Germans as sometimes I guess the non-Germans don't make a difference between him and the other German manufactors...

cheers

Uwe, it was only you talking to him that meant I eventually got my dromedary corps (and later I sold them to John C)

A pity that this guy made so much trouble in our community and we all still suffer from it...
