3D Resin Printing - summary of the last batch

Having written my half year review I wondered how much I had actually printed. So here is a summary
  • 5 x M3A1 Stuarts - for my British desert forces
  • 1 x M3 Lee - a test for replacing my diecasts
  • 1 x Gaz bus for my Russian Command
  • 2 x Jagdpanthers - to match my single Matchbox model
  • 1 x 28mm stagecoach - for Wild West games
  • 7 x 28mm mounted Mexicans plus spare horses
  • 3 x Japanese Ka-Mi tank hulls - to replace some that exploded (*)
  • 3 x Japanese I-Go tank hulls - to replace some that exploded (*)
  • 6 x softskins for a friend
  • 16 x Spanish Round Hat Infantry - to use as French Legion Nautique in Egypt with a few left overs from before
  • 24 x Russian Pavlov Grenadiers
  • 450 x Russian Infantry - Mixed Grenadiers/Musketeers/Jaegers
Overall a very sucessful run with a low level of failures and only one FEP failure. Elegoo water washable ABS resin used throughout.

* These were printed after I discovered the problems with uncured resin remaining in the model voids, but I had not added large enough drain holes

    Hi Will,

    That is a phenomenal amount of printing! Churning through 450 Russian infantry alone is an absolute mountain of work, so keeping the failure rate that low throughout the whole batch is a massive win. The Spanish round hats as Légion Nautique is a very clever use for the Egyptian campaign, too.

    Thanks Andy, it was quite a task removing all the supports without causing any damage, a few have lost their bayonets but that could easy happen during gaming so they will get used. The water washable ABS resin certainly helps the success rate.

      Hi Will,

      Too true—a few lost bayonets just adds to that authentic, battle-hardened campaign look on the tabletop anyway! Removing supports from that many figures must have been a proper test of patience, so it's a massive credit to the resin that they came out so well.
