The main points of assembly are seen in the progress picture. The white or dark grey parts are from the original Airfix kit, the mid grey from an Airfix QLT and the brown from the Zvezda. Note it was easier to cut and fit the undeployed sub-frame for the gun
Looks like a very useful kit-bash. I have one 2pr portee that I made from cardboard and balsa (the gun itself as well). I might try your approach to make one or two more!
ReplyDeleteGreat conversion. 2pounder portees are always one of my favorite 'strange' WWII weapons.
ReplyDeleteLooking good. I have a miscast EWM truck ready for conversion to a portee, but I also have the Airfix fire tender truck surplus to requirements, so will have to give it a go. Sadly, I don't have the QLT to use as a flat bed - I'll have to score some card.
ReplyDeleteNice work squire. I found the Zvesda 2pdr quite fiddly to put together. Well done on doing it without any breakages.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece of modelling and a brilliant idea. Dont be surprised if you get copied!!
