Egyptian Artillery

These sneaked onto the painting table will I wasn't concentrating. They are the latest Strelets set for the Russo-Turkish war of 1877 but the uniforms were so generic I had to get a set to add to my Askaris.

There were enough figures for three gun crews (only 2 guns) so two crews were given white uniforms.
The other in Khaki with a rather fine looking officer

Does this mean I'm start the Sudan? - No decision yet, but my resistance is weakening

Sudan would be great, all those Dervishes, camels, Gordon, later Kitchener- a ripping setting for wargaming.
Always enjoy your work.

Very useful photos, thank you very much indeed. I am off to get a set or two for the crimea.

If only Strelets would abandon their stubborn insistence on only selling the Infantry as part of a large multi set.

Ah well if the manufacturers were not irritating it simply wouldn't be plastics.

Watch "Khartoum" or the Korda 1939 "Four Feathers" for some inspiration. Both good movies (and ignore the later versions of 4 Feathers -- the Korda version is easily the best).
