Last post for 2023 - a large batch of Napoleonic artillery rebased
Quite an effort to get done in time and I still missed completing some. They are dominantly French or French Allies.
In the foreground are the Brunswickers, who have also had their equipment replaced with French (apparentely purchased at Liepzig), I had originally assumed they used British.
The reason for the mismatch es between limbers and gun is fron earlier in the year when I replaced my old Airfix converted limbers with 3D printer and some guns that were replaced far earlier
What did I fail to complete? - Four British, two Portuguese gun crews to replace old Airfix conversions and a couple of extra British limbers.

Starting to rebase my Napoleonic British Army
A small start to one of my tasks for next year. I've started upgrading and rebasing my British Artillery, these are just the items that only needed rebasing. Some of the later humbrol blue paint has come out very bright, it doesn't look like that normally.
Some Foot Artillery with Revell figures, I am painting more of these these to replace my old Airfix conversions. The command stand is Strelets.
Rocket Troop from HaT, the rocket trailer was made many years earlier from an article in Airfix Magazine I think.
The limbered version of the trailer

More WW2 Volkssturm
More Second World War Volkssturm, again a half set from from Mars, but their latest release. Together with the previous half set this will make a great unit for Rapid Fire or Battlegroup.
My previous batch from March 2021

WW1/RCW "White" Russian Infantry
Another three units to add to my WW1/Russian Civil War collection. All depict White Russian units and are based on the HaT WW1 Russian figures.
One of the Kornilov regiments
The composite Imperial Guard regiment (I have given them their parade hat and trousers to make them a bit different)
A Markov regiment
The flags are some I had spare I will add some better ones in due course.

WW1 Austro-Hungarian rebasing
I don't have a large force of Austro-Hungarians but they also need rebasing to bring up to current standards (except for the artillery)
I did comtemplate giving them a light wash to bring them completely up to date but I decided to leave them as is for now.
The unit with light blue breeches and hat tops is actually Ukrainian, but could easilt be used as Hungarian.

WW1 Russians rebasing - part 1
A big step forward with most of my remaining old based Russian infantry, etc. rebased.
Each unit has a flagpole so I can add an appropriate flag depending on which faction they are representing.
Most of the figures are HaT
Along with the guns I have reworked my old Russian WW2 limbers (ex Airfix) to provide mobility

On the Workbench - December 2023
I felt I made good progress over the course of the month but there is still plenty left unfinished frm my original plan, so in an effort to clear the decks before the festivities I will try on work on:-
- More WW2 German Volksturm to complete my "Fall of the Reich" forces - in progress from last month
- Rebasing my WW1/RCW Russians and Austro-Hungarians and adding some additonal units such as the following
- WW1 Russian limbers based on reusing my Airfix ACW limber previously used for WW2 and adding HaT WW1 Russian limber riders
- 3 units of WW1/RCW White Russian Infantry
- plus trying to finish as many bits as possible before the year end

A few pictures from Recon 2023
An early start and off to The Recon show in Pudsey to join the Lance & Longbow running a participation game of the battle of Nicopolis 1396. The participation games had less space than previous years and it was just as well we didn't have the society stand as well. We managed two games and each side won one.

ECW - Burghill's Horse
One of the longest serving regiments in Sir William Waller's armes was Burghill's Horse, later commanded by Jonas Vandruske after Colonel Robert Burghill was wounded at the battle of Lansdown. The figures are all Warlord plastic.
In front are a few skirmishers to make my existing unit up to 12 figures.
