It must be Christmas!

There's snow on the ground and when I got back from the warmth of the Canaries last night I had to spend 10 minutes de-icing the car. But today my order from models2u arrived with lots of goodies so it's very like Christmas should be.

AWI rebasing - more British

Quite a large batch of figures to rebase, but this completes all the British infantry and artillery


The artillery gunners are repainted Prussians that I had originally produced before the Revell SYW Austrian Artillery appeared, they have now replaced my old Washington's Army conversions


Just the commanders to work on, but they will need to have extra figures added

More French for Egypt 1800

Phew, that was an effort. I originally started work on these as three separate batches, but then they all seemed to merge and ended up being completed at the same time. These are all duplicates of my existing French infantry to double them in size from 12 to 24 figures each and 6 to 12 for the Legere.


I've still got some cavalry and limbers to work on.

On the workbench - January 2019

Quite simple targets for this month, which are complete all the French in Egypt 1800, and then get started on rebasing the AWI British.

Plus a non-workbench target to sort out surplus figures to take to Vapnartak at York on 3rd February

Plan for 2019

There is not an overall theme to 2019 except to try and reduce the painting backlog in a number of periods. Ideally this should help reduce the stash, but I'll certainly be buying quite a few of the latest Strelets releases

So my main aims are (in no particular order)

• Continue tricorne rebasing (just AWI now) plus extra/replacement cavalry units
• Medieval – More WOTR longbow/bill units, mounted archers, cavalry, Scottish cavalry , extra Crusader foot
• Renaissance – Russian Stoldatski, etc. using up the Strelets bonus figures plus Galleys
• Revolution – doubling up my French and British forces in Egypt. One Additional Austrian line unit plus another in Austrian style uniform (Baden?), Maybe replace Springwood grenadiers?.
• Napoleonic – work on the Spanish, continue the cavalry, acquire more early infantry, Tidy up French artillery, especially limbers, Pavlov Grenadiers
• WW2 – bits and pieces (I'll try to avoid buying more), but I will buy and work on some Free French for Bir Hacheim
• Interwar - Rifs and more French Foreign Legion
• SYW – Hanoverian Infantry Brigade, more (French?) Cavalry, British guns
• WW1 – increase/rebase British
• WSS – French Infantry (Mars)
• 28mm – “skirmishing” WSS figures to provide some opposition for my pirates
• Terrain – more buildings, wadis, vines, etc
