Portsmouth the historic dockyard

On the way to Normandy I stopped of in Portsmouth for week, so an annual pass for the Historical Dockyards made sense. Over the course of three days I manged to do all the major attractions although there were a few parts that would deserve a repeat visit.

I started off with the Mary Rose as this was the one item on my list I couldn't miss
Lunch had to be accompanied by the Mary Rose beer brewed by the Powder Monkey brewery adjacent to the Explosion Museum in Gosport - An excellent wheat beer.
Another expedition took me to both the Submarine and Explosion Museums in Gosport, plenty of interest but I didn't take many pictures
The Naval Museum had nice models
Plus a couple of nice dioramas of the Naval Brigade in action during the Indian Mutiny
and a attack on a Mediterranean port in the Napoleonic era
A harbour tour was included so here is HMS Warrior
RFA Argus - fate still to be decided
USS Winston Churchill
A couple of Ukranian minesweepers (ex Dutch Navy) waiting to be allowed to sail through the Bosporus
I think a couple of fishery protection vessels
Various other vessels in dock being upgraded
I also visited HMS Victory and HMS Warrior but didn't take any pictures

Finally over in Langstone Habour a remnant of a Phoenix Caisson intended for use in the Mulberry harbour, but broke before use.
