As is traditional after Phalanx we all particaoted in a big game over at Steve's in Salford. This year it was the Sudan. The Egyptians were defending the Riverside town and neighbouring village against a horde of Mahdists. The British plodded across the sand in the baking sun to their rescue.
My command, the cavalry and camelry
The Egyptians repel three assaults
Still holding on except the Mahdists have taken a building in the town.
By the end of play thanks to the staunch Egyptian defense there was no hope of success for the Mahdists.

Glorious seeing so many 1/72 Sudan figures on the table. Like a scene from "The River War."
Marvellous. Always good to see a big game played at someone's house, especially with loads of beautiful figures, super terrain and 'extras'!
Best wishes, James
Fantastic looking game certainly apt given the current weather.
Yes, that does look very impressive!
